Day Thirty-One.

We had to assemble at 0830 to go the Hubel Provincial Museum to understand more about the artifacts displayed which are well preserved till today. It is the only provincial comprehensive museum in the province. It was also "Qing Ming" Festival today where people have this opportunity to remember and honor their ancestors at grave sites. And that, because they used this free time to go to the museum. When we reached the museum within half an hour, there was a long queue at the entrance. We manage to get in shortly and spent around an hour or so inside. Our tour guide explained to us about those hidden stories as we proceed level by level and our objective there at first was to view all of the four treasures in the museum. But one is out for exhibition. The museum actually collects, protects, and exhibits the cultural relics discovered in the province. And it has collected over 200,000 cultural relics, including pottery, porcelains, jade, bronze vessels, ancient weapons, and ancient musical instruments. We were given one and a half hour to explore before we had to gather.
After departing from the museum, we reached 东湖-East Lake within five minute. We were briefed by the tour guide regarding the directions and stuff and also the meeting time as well as venue. East Lake is the biggest scenery tourist attraction in Wuhan and also the largest lake within a city in China. We settled at an area and had our mini picnic there. The blooming flowers are really catchy to one's eye which we cannot experience it in Singapore because it is spring season. However, Wuhan which is called 火炉during summer season (extremely hot, can up to 40 degrees or even higher); East Lake will be crowded because the lake will be cooling to calm one’s body temperature. The lake is really big and deep. Our tour guide advised us not to take any water activities because it’s really dangerous, the tide is really strong. We headed to explore the park and came across the mini theme park and decided to try it out. Soon after, it was time to leave and we gathered to go back to campus. Some of us rested and went to 建设二路 to meet up with the rest and had our dinner, not forgetting we also checked the pricings of the luggage at those shops nearby.
Our marvelous tour guide who accompanied us for all our four attractions: Yellow Crane Tower, Three Gorges, Wu-dang Mountain and East Lake
When we went to meet some of our friends at the salon, a mother of one of the hairdresser actually initiate and welcome us to her house. She even volunteered to cook some local dishes for us and told us that those food are definitely incomparable to the ones we ate outside. She was so motherly and gave each of us a big hug and shows her outmost care for us. We really can feel the generosity she gave us and makes us feel so "home". This is probably their culture where they will try their very best to treat their guest well. And the humbleness they have is where Singaporeans should learn from them.
