Day Thirty-Six.

Set off as early at around 12 to do some shopping because for the rest of the days are all free and easy for all of us. We took Bus 588 and accompanied friends to Bank of China at 步行街 to change currency. There were swindlers outside the bank and they offered higher rates than the bank. They were very daring; they went inside the bank, shoving us their calculators and asked us if we were interested to change with them as they were willing to offer better rates. We ignored them as we think that exchanging with the bank is safer as there might be counterfeit RMB notes, at the same time, keeping ourselves clear from any troubles that may occur. The security also chased them out and told us to shun these people; they were up to no good. Basically, I feel that the bank should tighten the security to refrain these people to harass the customers. After changing, we went to 汉正街. Sadly, when we reached there, we then knew that most of the stores close at 1700.

And we came across a transport, MaMu-麻木 which is something like motorcycle. It cost 7RMB, negotiable. We tried and it brought us back to步行街. The journey was very rocky and I held onto Winnie tightly because I was afraid I might fall off. And she kept on ask me to take pictures and do many stuns. So dangerous.

Upon reaching, we shopped and everyone started to either have their nails done or to buy extra sets because the price is much cheaper compared to Singapore’s. We spent quite some time there and coincidentally we met students from EE as they were speaking fluent English. We looked over and saw them, they were my former lecture mates.
Came across a lady eating nuts on the bus and she will throw the nuts shells where ever she likes, not considering the people around her. Also, there is another lady happily cutting her fingernails, it was so unhygienic to do that in public.
I feel that these people should be fined or if these situations were to happen in Singapore, they will be up to stomp and will probably be the headline of the day.
